April

March is over! Hard to believe. We had a fun and busy month.

Started out with the Pinewood Derby with Cub Scouts. Alex placed 15. My pictures didn't turn out all that great, but I will post a few.

Alex has been taking ice skating lessons at the Rec Plex. He and Jeff have gone to practice a few times. He is enjoying it but I don't think he will go beyond level one (we will see).

Alex, Jared and I spent a week battling some illness (which I still think is the flu). Alex missed 3 days of school. Alex did some wheezing and was put on a steriod. (may him moody). Jared ran fevers (he is my fever son).

March 18, Jared turned four and we are struggling to get him potty trained. It will happen eventually, right?!?! We celebrated his birthday dinner at O'Charleys (I kind of talked him into it). He and Alex are having a combined party next month. Theme to be determined. Jared had his 4 year check up and shots. He is ready for school (except for the potty training...)

Alex's school celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph on March 19. Jeff, Grandpa Lueddecke and Great-Grandpa Doerhoff attended mass with Alex. Alex participated with the choir.

The Cub Scouts visited the Mid Rivers Animal Shelter March 23. We learned a lot and saw some interesting rescued dogs. Alex & I did a bit of sneezing on that trip.

For our March Pack meeting, we had a cake walk. There were a ton of cute ideas. Alex and I (Jared helped too) made a race track cake. It was a popular idea (3 other people did the same).

Basement work has moved slowly while Grandpa went to Florida. The boys toy room is drywalled. Work will resume this weekend.

February Happenings

Hey! As February draws to a close. I thought I'd update my blog. This month we attended the train show and the boys enjoyed looking at all the trains. Alex particularly liked the Lego train and has started his own version in his room. Jared had surgery on Friday the 13th to repair a bilateral hernia and is doing well. The cub scouts visited a bank. I think they hoped for some free $ samples and a vault like those in the movies.

Basement work is moving along.
Here is the bar. It looks like a shop vac, but use your imagination.

We made some yummy cupcakes for Valentine's Day.

Basement building continued

Here are the beginnings of the built in
Alex and Jared test out the potty
We have plumbing!

The basement is coming along. We hope to drywall by mid to end of February. I wanted a bone colored toilet (to match the others) Now we can't find a bone colored vanity. Does anyone have any places to look (besides Home Depot and Lowe's)?

4 walls

The waiting game...

Here I am again. I decided to blog instead of sorting my socks. I really hate sorting socks. I had my first visit with the OBGYN this morning. Not too much to report. I go for an ultrasound on Dec 29. Seems like a long time. I'm trying to think positive. It is really hard to do that after suffering two loses this year. It never even occured to me to worry with when I was pregnant with Alex and Jared. One of the miscarriage websites likened it to losing your innocence. Anyway, we will continue to pray for a good outcome.
We attended soccer awards on Sunday at All Saints. His team actually placed 3rd! Santa visited and Alex actually sat on his lap! I took a picture with my camera phone. I forgot my camera. If I can figure out how to get it off I will post it. Jared would not go near Santa.
I'm planning for our Cub Scout Meeting on Friday night. We are going to make Frosty Pops. (snowmen made out of marshmallows with a candy hat) Watch out for 11 six year olds armed with bamboo skewers! Then to look at Christmas Lights. It should be a lot of fun... Brr.
We officially have four walls to the Toy room now. Alex and Jared are excited. Alex wants to paint it green. We will have to see...
